MONEY IS AN ENEMY OF FRIENDSHIP

Money is an enemy of friendship. Everybody has an attraction for money. When lending or borrowing of money is done between two friends, there is great risk. Friendship may be affected. So it is wise for true friends to avoid monetary transaction. Vanity is another element which breaks friendship. Everybody has self-respect. When a person tries to criticise his friend, their friendship is affected. So friendship must be treated very delicately.

In the beginning we had a rule.

Only one rule.

Easy, right?

We are more important than a guy.

But not today.

Not this time.

You've broken the rule.

The one rule.

At first it was ok.

We talked about everything.

I told you my secrets. 

You told me yours.

Next came the mistrust.

You told him.

You told him everything.

But that's ok, right?

Then came the abandonment.

Every weekend was with him.

Every night was with him.

Is that still right?

Finally came the cut off.

I'm ignored.

I'm alone.

But he's special, I get it.

I was always there.

I laughed through the good.

I helped through the bad.

I was your rock.

But he's there now, right?

As long as your happy, right?

Everything's fine, right?

We'll get over this, right?

No.

I'm alone and scared.

You're happy and loved.

But when you look at history,

You're alone after you're loved.

Will he always be there?

Will he love you forever?

Will he laugh at the good?

Will he cry at the bad?

We were sisters.

Now I barely recognize you.

I look back, and miss you.

Do you even remember me?

Or am I forgotten...

You've been there for me, through the good times and bad. I know I can count on you, to be there when I'm sad. Life without you, just wouldn't be right. I wouldn't be able to get through, each day and night. When I've had a bad day, I know that you're only a call away. When life takes that crazy turn, You are always there to help me learn. We've had so many good times together, I know we'll be best friends forever. No matter where we are, I know we'll never be too far. Old friends sat on their park bench like bookends,

A newspaper blowing through the grass,

Falls on the round toes of the old friends.

Old friends, winter companions, the old men,

Lost in their overcoats, waiting for the sun,

The sounds of the city sifting through trees,

Settles like dust on the shoulders of the old freaks.

Can you imagine us years from today,

sharing a park bench quietly,

How terribly strange to be seventy,

memory brushes the same years,

silently sharing the same fears.
